We are aware of a number of instances (Dec 2010 - July 2011) where workers compensation companies have rejected claims that have used the ASA RVG schedule because there are no specific item numbers for anaesthesia time or modifiers. Item numbers for these don't exist in the ASA schedule, but the insurers don't seem to be able to get past this. The particular companies we have heard about with this problem are Toll and Rocla and it appears to be a problem with software they are using to process the claims.
