You should be able to retrieve a processing report for all Eclipse claims, whether or not the claim has been rejected. These should be available within a few days of transmitting a claim. Before the processing report is ready, it should always possible to retrieve the status of the claim. This is usually done automatically in AA when you 'Run all transmissions' on the Eclipse menu. The result of a 'Status Request' is shown on the Eclipse tab for any account, in the 'Reports retrieved' box. In the following example, the status is MEDICARE_ASSESSING.

Click the <View progress stages> button to see what stage this is in the overall process. Once the process is complete, the status will be Complete-Ready, meaning that a processing report is ready for retrieval.

 

Click the <Get status request> button to retrieve the current claim status from Medicare.

 

Occasionally claims have been sent for which a status cannot be retrieved. In this case, you should call Medicare eBusiness to find out what has happened to the claim.

 

If Medicare advise you to resubmit the claim, you should first inactivate the original claim.
