2022 March 6
We’ve had a few enquiries the transition of Online Claiming functions from Client Adaptors (CA) to WebServices (WS). As mentioned in a previous update, our Cutting Edge product is fully WS compliant, and to ensure that all AA clients have time for a smooth transition to Cutting Edge we have been able to negotiate with Services Australia to extend all the AA CA certificates (also known as PKI) until at least 30 June 2022.
If you have already moved to Cutting Edge - there's nothing to do, you are already using WS compliant software.
If you are using AA on our Virtual Machine (VM) - nothing to do for now, we manage the connection to Medicare Online and ECLIPSE for you, and will assist you with the transition to Cutting Edge in the coming months.
If you are using AA on a local machine or your own server - your PKI certificates should automatically update when you make a connection to Medicare Online, e.g. whenever you verify a patient’s details or submit an electronic claim. We have been monitoring all AA sites, the majority now have updated certificates and will continue to connect normally to Medicare.
NOTE: A small number have updated but are receiving an error "The Location certificate (HCL) has expired. Contact the registration authority (9102)". If you are seeing this error please let us know immediately and we will liaise with Medicare to resolve it.
We recommend that you check your certificates this week. Your current certificate expiry date will be shown on the lower right of the Eclipse Menu in AA. When your certificate is extended, the date should appear as 23/06/2024. To manually check the expiry date, go to Eclipse Menu > Setup > Test > Test.
Other uses of PKI certificates - whichever of the above categories applies to you, you may still have other uses for your PKI certificates unrelated to AA, such as connecting to HPOS. We can only provide general advice in this situation.
