The November Medicare schedule has been updated with a number of new items and deletions as described on the MBS Online News page. There are no changes specific to anaesthetic services, and no notable fee changes. Health fund fee schedules are being updated as they become available. This version includes updates for AHSA, BUPA, HBF, HCF, Medibank Private, St Lukes, TAC and VicWC. Updates have not yet been released for DVA, GUH, Mildura, NIB, QldWC or SAWC and we will include these as they become available.

ASA RVG Unit Value Update

The ASA has published a new maximum recommended RVG unit rate of $89, effective from 1 November. Because there is no obligation to use the maximum rate, it is up to the individual AA user to enter the rate they wish to use for regular accounts, or TP and WC accounts. This can be done in Options > Unit Values. A list showing the approved unit value history is provided on this screen for reference.
